Rick Mountacastle

As a producer of No Country for Old People, a nursing home exposé, I leverage my 35 years of experience as a federal and state prosecutor to advocate for the rights and dignity of the elderly. I partner with award-winning filmmaker Susie Singer Carter and producer Don Priess, to educate & activate the public to demand change.  Before becoming a film producer in September 2022, I served as a criminal and civil Assistant U.S. Attorney, Financial Litigation Unit Supervisor, Civil Chief, First Assistant U.S. Attorney, Principal Deputy U.S. Attorney, and United States Attorney (2017-2018) in the Western District of Virginia. I led the prosecution of Purdue Pharma (depicted in the Emmy-nominated Hulu miniseries Dopesick), Abbott Laboratories, and other major pharmaceutical companies for their fraudulent and harmful marketing practices. I have a strong track record of achieving justice and accountability for the victims of corporate and violent crimes
